    Exhibition Introduction

    Shanghai Fish is a nickname of Jinhai Lake which is a new urban park built in Fengxian New City, and is the one of most important public space in the New City. After ten years development and construction of Fengxian New City, the Lake is now opened to the public. The exhibition will be opened on the lakeside, aims to introduce the construction of Fengxian New City and attract people to enjoy the waterfront space of Shanghai Fish.

    Fengxian New City is located on the south of Shanghai city. It begins from Nanqiao (South bridge) New City, and historically belonged to the traditional area of Jiangnan (the south of the Yangtze River). At the same time, as a part of Shanghai, an international metropolis, the spirit of innovation is conceived as an important character for Fengxian New City. The term of South owns a special meaning of the spirit of innovation in political and economical development in contemporary China. The topic of the exhibition is thus named as The Shanghai South which aims to bring the rethinking of the spirit, identity and mission of the New City in the aspects of history, culture, urbanlization, and the meaning of urban public space. The exhibition will present some important projects of architecture and urban design within ten years construction of Fengxian New City, including the project of Shanghai Fish.
