UPDAT-NING: Digital Changning Satellite Exhibition

Changning District is one of Shanghai’s central urban areas with the strongest digital presence. Since the introduction of the “Digital Changning” strategy in 2001, the district’s digital ecosystem has steadily developed—from the emergence of clustered internet industries during the later years of the 12th Five-Year Plan, to the recent, comprehensive promotion of urban digital transformation. This evolution has produced numerous exemplary cases, reflecting Changning’s all-encompassing transformation in data management, digital governance, and intelligent technologies. UPDAT-NING responds to the theme of SUSAS 2025 by presenting key scenarios on-site through digital technology. Following the narrative of Digital Changning, the exhibition highlights initiatives such as 15-minute community life circles and representative industrial clusters. By blending the real and the virtual and offering rich, multi-layered experiences, it allows visitors to engage with both the digital Changning of today and the constantly evolving Changning of tomorrow.
