Beyond the Bund, Echo the Light

The Huangpu Satellite Exhibition focuses on the renewal of the Bund. Its opening ceremony and a two-month temporary exhibition are held in the historic Customs House. The initiative explores new approaches to digital governance through the integration of technology, art, and space. The program includes an opening ceremony, a closing ceremony, the temporary exhibition, six key events, and numerous collaborations with local businesses in tourism, culture, and sports. The goal is to draw public attention back to the Bund and inspire dialogue on redesigning and revitalizing the Customs House to enhance its functionality and promote the sustainable renewal of the surrounding area. A special “Map of Beyond the Bund” (available both online and in print) showcases six themed routes centered on the Customs House and surrounding heritage buildings, art venues, trendy landmarks, and lifestyle spots such as historic shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. These routes are paired with cultural and tourism events, offering visitors a seamless, one-stop experience as they explore the Bund.
